Revitalized web for Laboratorios Vita

ApplianSys today announced that pharmaceutical and healthcare products manufacturer Laboratorios Vita has selected CACHEBOX to improve internet access and bandwidth capacity.

“The majority of IT managers here are always looking to improve and optimise their bandwidth use because Internet service provision in Venezuela is not very reliable and very expensive compared to other parts of the world,” states Pablo Cedeño of Vita. “To solve our bandwidth issues we investigated a number of products but they were either powerful but expensive or cheap but unreliable. CACHEBOX from ApplianSys offered high performance at sensible prices, so we got in touch.”

ApplianSys recommended the CACHEBOX220 web cache appliance which was the first device of its kind to use SSDs to delivers higher caching performance. “ApplianSys were very responsive. They worked really hard to make sure we had the right solution for our requirement,” adds Pablo.

After an in-depth evaluation of the solution, Vita purchased the ‘220’. “We were very confident we’d made the right choice after the trial. One month on and I can testify we’re achieving performance improvements of 30% to 40%,” concludes Pablo.
