ApplianSys is pleased to announce that SpareBank 1 Nord-Norge, one of Norway’s largest regional banks, has upgraded to a DNSBOX solution to provide high-availability DNS and DHCP to its branches.

Head of Networks at SpareBank, Jostein Solvang, had used two Linux servers for more than six years but was now finding the server management, including keeping it patched and on the latest version, to be a poor use of valuable technician time.

With long-term plans to roll out any new solution to 20 branches, Jostein instead wanted a solution that required minimal effort, ensured robust network security and automatically safeguarded network uptime.

Jostein was delighted to find an appliance-based DNS and DHCP solution that offered the hands-off approach he was looking for. And what’s more, with the help of the ApplianSys support team, he could deploy failover quickly and seamlessly.

Just a few weeks after first contacting ApplianSys, SpareBank had successfully deployed two DNSBOX220s, choosing an active-active configuration to improve security and service uptime. “The ApplianSys technical crew made implementation easy,” says Jostein. “We appreciate their going above and beyond”.

With DNSBOX’s centralised admin and intuitive user interface, Jostein can now spend his precious time on other things. “It’s simple, stable and easy to manage. We are very satisfied with the product so far,” he added.
