ApplianSys today announced that the Ministry of Education in Taif, Saudi Arabia has chosen DNSBOX to help simplify DNS management and increase security for core IP services. As well as administering DNS internally, Network Administrators also manage IP services for over 850 schools in Taif.

An experienced DNS professional, Naif Orabi from the Ministry had been advocating the benefits of BIND over Windows at a group of networking professionals when one of the members recommended DNSBOX.  Based on BIND, it combines enterprise class DNS, DHCP and IP Address Management (DDI) software with the rock solid reliability of the appliance format.

“We could have continued managing our IP space the hard way – hand editing BIND configuration files and tracking IP addresses in spreadsheets – or made life easier with a ready made solution,” says Naif. “What used to take up to 20 minutes, we can now do with a few clicks. DNSBOX will free up a lot of time for our administrators to focus on higher priority tasks. It’s simple to configure, simple to manage and does what every busy system engineer wants…simply works.”

The Ministry of Education (www.moe.gov.sa) is one of three bodies responsible for the education system in Saudi Arabia and caters for the academic requirements of over 2.5million students from the ages of 6 to 18.
