Large UK agency secures DHCP while moving to the cloud
ApplianSys is pleased to announce that a large UK financial regulatory body has deployed DNSBOX to maintain reliable, secure DHCP services while migrating other systems to the cloud.
The agency, which operates across multiple locations and handles sensitive data, had been running DHCP on wireless controllers. But this setup offered little visibility and raised security concerns – unacceptable for a security-conscious organisation.
When reviewing alternatives, it was offered a high-end enterprise DHCP solution at a cost of over £200,000 – an eye-watering price for a basic network service. DNSBOX provided a fit-for-purpose alternative with the same high availability and security – at just a tenth of the cost.
By introducing DNSBOX, the agency has secured its DHCP infrastructure without delay or complexity. The solution is easy to deploy, simple to manage, and robust enough to meet the demands of a large, distributed public-sector organisation.
Redundant pairs of DNSBOX200 appliances have now been deployed at each of the agency’s three key locations. This setup delivers robust DHCP services with the performance and security required for such a high-stakes environment.
“DNSBOX has given the agency exactly what it needed: strong security, full visibility, and high availability – without the cost or complexity of enterprise bloat,” explains DNSBOX consultant Magdalena Jovanovic.
The deployment ensures the agency can now support cloud migration while keeping critical IP services under tight control – with less effort, less risk, and much lower cost.
