DNSBOX fixes faster fastener DNS at Endries

ApplianSys today announced that Endries International Inc has selected DNSBOX to manage its external DNS. Like most people considering appliances just to handle external DNS, Endries wanted a set-and-forget solution: easy, reliable and secure. Other appliance solutions Endries looked at were too complex and loaded with features irrelevant to the task they had in mind. An orthodox master-and-two-slave deployment of DNSBOX300 and 2 DNSBOX100 models did everything they wanted, at a sensible price.

External DNS requirements have often created a problem for network teams looking at appliance solutions. DNSBOX Product Manager Magdalena Jovanovic explains: “The relative simplicity of the requirement means companies cannot often justify a crazy budget to themselves: because there is relatively little DNS admin going on, network managers sometimes struggle to put forward a business case in terms of time and cost savings. And yet because it is their public internet-facing DNS, they know that they really need to do security, reliability and redundancy properly.”

The DNSBOX range has always featured several different models, each purpose built for different tasks. So with DNSBOX you can architect solutions fit for a specific purpose. DNSBOX300 is ideal for simpler cases, such as standalone external DNS. As Jovanovic says, “it doesn’t have all the bells and whistles which you get with other appliances, which are designed to cater for every imaginable scenario including large complex deployments with IPAM and advanced DHCP integration. So the user interface is more intuitive and workflows are more streamlined. Users often find they can be editing their DNS within minutes and don’t need extra training.”

“And of course, because we offer dedicated slave models like DNSBOX100, Endries were able to follow best practice principles: they could distribute their external DNS across the classic master-slave architecture without breaking the bank. With its solid state storage and swappable CF cards for added redundancy, its rock solid. That’s why the DNSBOX300/100 combo has always been a winner for external DNS deployments.”
