DNSBOX makes (air) waves

ApplianSys is pleased to announce that public-service broadcaster, Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM), has chosen to deploy multiple DNSBOX appliances to secure its DDI system and deliver guaranteed network availability.

With its current DNS, DHCP and IPAM solution approaching end of life, RTM feared network security was at risk and, lacking a robust failover system, any downtime would severely impact its service. With best value and ease of use in mind, RTM put its needs out to tender.

Combining the benefits of enterprise-class DDI software with the security, reliability and ease of use of the appliance format, RTM found choosing DNSBOX easy. RTM was able to deploy a four-appliance, high-availability solution consisting of two DNSBOX primaries and two secondaries to deliver recursive and authoritative DNS and DHCP, as well as offering unlimited IPAM licences.

Without a single point of failure, RTM’s new DDI solution can guarantee service reliability and a faster user experience. And should one unit fail, the others will automatically step in to ensure no loss of service. On top of this, security is improved thanks to DNSBOX’s modular yet fully integrated design – the authoritative server is isolated from the DNS cache with each running its own ‘sandbox’ environment.

‘Network stability and reliability are essential for a broadcaster,’ advises DNSBOX Consultant, John Grigg, ‘DNSBOX provides a simple to use, scalable and automated failover system that will guarantee service uptime and make the network ultra-secure, giving RTM peace of mind and its customers a premium service.’
