ApplianSys today announced that telecommunications provider Remsat has chosen CACHEBOX to reduce bandwidth use at remote sites across Alberta, Canada.

Remsat provide internet and telephone services via satellite and fibre to lodges supporting anything from 50 to 1,500 clients. The connections are mainly used for Wi-Fi access and mostly carry port 80 traffic. Remsat are keen to keep save on bandwidth and also offer better performance to users.

“We’re seeing a big increase in demand from service providers across the globe struggling to serve customers in remote locations,” says Mike Clark, CEO of ApplianSys. “CACHEBOX has been proven to reduce http traffic by up to 40% in service provider environments which has given them space to grow their subscriber bases without expensive bandwidth upgrades.

Remsat Telecommunications provide cost-efficient remote communications solutions for locations almost anywhere in Canada, specializing in reliable high-speed internet connections and full phone service capabilities (VoIP).
