ApplianSys announced today that Australian ISP mbits has placed an order for both DNSBOX and CACHEBOX solutions to deal with different challenges in its network posed by rapid expansion.

mbits is replacing its existing DDI tools with a DNSBOX400 master and DNSBOX200 slaves to ease the growing DDI burden. It sees immediate benefits from an appliance-based solution with integrated IPAM. mbits expects DDI administration will be easier, faster and more controlled and that its DNS and DHCP services will be more robust. It sees the level of benefit being even greater over time, as working with IPv6 would be difficult with its existing tools.

Another issue for mbits was bandwidth availability to provide services to its customers. To deal with this, it bought multiple CACHEBOX230/100s to deliver bandwidth savings.
