ApplianSys today announced its continued expansion into the African ISP market by helping Malawi’s Burco Electronics make the most of their satellite broadband connection through a CACHEBOX deployment.

The ISP was looking to cache http, downloads, YouTube and software updates which can all easily be done with the two CACHEBOX200 units it has purchased.

BDS, Burco Electronics (www.burcomw.com) Internet Service Provider brand, has the largest coverage in Malawi, with a wireless network currently extending from Chitipa in the north, to Nchalo in the South.  Customers include a large number of home users and most of the corporate broadband internet users in Malawi, such as banks and a large proportion of both the Government and the NGO Sectors.
