DNSBOX douses DHCP frustration
ApplianSys is pleased to announce that fire protection specialist Crawford Sprinkler Systems has deployed DNSBOX to replace a Windows Server DNS and DHCP setup that was frustrating network staff and restricting flexibility.
With around 50 users, the company’s network setup includes multiple VLANs and subnets to separate services like printers and servers, DHCP options for PXE boot and IP phones, a few static host assignments, and dynamic DNS updates.
Network Manager Daniel Phifer needed a solution that made configuration and day-to-day management as quick and easy as possible.
Daniel deployed a DNSBOX300 primary server and a redundant pair of DNSBOX200 secondary servers. He now has a system that’s quicker to manage and easier to navigate. “Of all the tools I looked at, the cost for what I needed for a business my size was spot on,” he said. “The functionality was there. The sales architect and salesperson were extremely knowledgeable, and support is outstanding.”
“Network Managers are increasingly moving DNS and DHCP services away from Windows Servers, often prompted by cloud migration” says Marketing Manager Chris Newman, “IT managers recognise the need to retain such critical services on-premise and DNSBOX gives them a powerful appliance based solution without the big brand price tag.”
