making network managers' lives easier
The server appliance approach offers a number of customer benefits. Server appliances are simpler, with less to know and less to manage. There are considerable cost savings on installation and configuration. With tailored software and hardware carefully integrated to achieve a specific task, appliances are more robust and performance is higher. Server appliances cost less to run – a function of savings in space, power and heat.
ApplianSys are the server appliance specialists. This means we take the central role in designing and building a server appliance.
The company’s server appliance platform uses only tried and tested hardware and firmware – a modified LINUX distribution, developed specifically for deployment in ApplianSys solutions running on industry standard x86-compatible hardware components. Our server appliances are dedicated to one application and have no unused buffers or open ports – so the platform is inherently secure.
ApplianSys looks at the critical issues that IT Managers face - and identifies where server appliance solutions could provide the right answer. We then select the very best technologies to put in the server appliance product.
Software usually comes from Commercial Software Vendors or the Open Source movement, which we adapt, simplify and improve to run on the ApplianSys hardware platform. This often means taking out, adding, and rebuilding key features, including integrated GUIs.
We ensure Open Source code is “industrialised” for the server appliance platform - in order to run reliably and simply; with easy set-up and no down time. Crucially we also provide the right support and service packages and ongoing upgrades and developments.
Our Server Appliance Platform uses only tried and tested Hardware and Firmware - a modified LINUX 2.x kernel running on industry standard x86 compatible hardware components. We only include components the appliance actually needs - there are no unused buffers, applications or open ports - so the platform itself is inherently secure.
