Developer

What we’re looking for
Developers at junior, mid and senior level. Graduate trainees (first-jobbers) openings also exist.

At junior level, the ideal candidate will be a Computer Science (or similar) graduate looking for a first or second job working with networking and internet technologies. In addition to a good degree (at least 2:1), you will be able to demonstrate deep technical interest via significant practical experience.

It is essential that you are/have at least:

  • Fluent with Linux, including configuring and building packages from source
  • Sound working knowledge of Python, or demonstrably have the generic skills to learn Python quickly
  • Solid web development skills, including HTML, Javascript, CSS
  • Experienced with networking and internet infrastructure technologies and protocols
  • The general aptitudes and motivations for team-based development in an entrepreneurial company

For mid or senior level developers, your levels of knowledge and expertise should be deeper than those indicated above. The degree requirement is less relevant if you can demonstrate significant experience, deep knowledge and high levels of fluency.

You should also have commensurately greater experience with the full development cycle (requirements capture, analysis, configuration, specification, testing, troubleshooting, migration and so on) and ability to contribute fully to the ongoing development of best practice approaches within the team.
