VoIP QoS for QSR

ApplianSys announced today that QSR Systems, a large communication services provider from Singapore, has purchased the VOIPBOX solution to improve its call reliability and reduce the bandwidth required by VoIP traffic.

Aiming to improve its customer satisfaction, QRS wanted to optimise the VoIP services provided to its large panel of clients. With multiple offices in countries such as Malaysia and Bangladesh where data paths are limited, routing voice calls internationally has proven to be very expensive.

“We were looking for a reliable solution for VPN and bandwidth optimisation, as our clients were asking for it. At the same time, we wanted to reduce the need for expensive leased lines. This is exactly what VOIPBOX310 provides,“ explains Quazi Jamil, Network Manager at QSR.

ApplianSys Business Development Director Dave Gravell comments: “At first QSR was concerned that VOIPBOX would be affected by blocked voice ports. But the appliance can bypass any firewall or blockage of VoIP operation. In short, VOIPBOX strips RTP headers, allowing the link to run many more calls. At the same time it uses byte level QoS on the data stream to ensure speech has unprecedented quality with no jitter or dropped calls.”

After successful evaluation of the solution, QSR decided to purchase two additional units – VOIPBOX220 and VOIPBOX020 – to support their growing number of clients. “We are very satisfied with the performance of the appliance as well as the simplicity of its web interface. It is a good fit for our needs,” concludes Quazi.
