SpiriTel’s capacity for calls lifted
ApplianSys today announced that SpiriTel Technologies, an awarding business communications provider, has selected VOIPBOX to help it increase network capacity for VoIP services.
VOIPBOX optimises VoIP traffic over a WAN link, increasing the bandwidth available for VoIP calls on existing connections without having to resort to expensive link upgrades.
“SpiriTel looked at VOIPBOX as a solution to provide additional channels of VoIP capacity for sites that had limited available capacity or where the cost to provide that capacity was too prohibitive,” comments Kenny Roberts, Technical Director, SpiriTel Technologies. “We selected VOIPBOX as it was a proven solution and the technical support provided by ApplianSys was very good.”
VOIPBOX uses ViBE, a powerful VoIP optimisation engine, to compress the VoIP data packets without compressing the audio stream. This means that call quality is not affected, but more calls can be handled on the same connection, and the remaining bandwidth can be used for data transfer without compromising the VoIP data stream.
