ApplianSys is pleased to announce that Champaign School District has purchased a CACHEBOX310 to speed up internet access for students and teachers.

The district’s network provides internet access to 18 schools via a central 500Mbps link. This link was saturated throughout the school day, causing user frustration and leading teachers to avoid using online resource in the classroom.

“Champaign School District was most concerned about the latency introduced by its overloaded internet connection,” comments Sales Executive Sophie Clark. “With CACHEBOX in place, bandwidth congestion has been reduced and we were also able to identify other causes of latency in the district’s network.”

“We took the time to really understand the district’s problem and network environment before recommending a solution. During our consultation we found that, in addition to the latency caused by congested links, delay was also introduced by an outdated firewall. We were able to advise which equipment was causing the issue and should be upgraded.”

Now that teachers and students have a high-speed connection they can actually use, the school district plans to purchase a second CACHEBOX310 for redundancy.
